We have identified 3 important shifts which a leader experiences at middle management level

Shift 1. Shift 1 occurs when a leader embraces their change in role as a consequence of a promotion and begins to develop influence with their direct reports through building connected relationships with team members. As a consequence of shift 1 a leader achieves moves from being a leader of self to leader of others. This shift is discussed in detail in section 1.
Shift 2. When a leader through their influence, has the ability to transform his team into a high-performing team (with superpowers) we call this shift 2. This process was discussed in detail in section 3 of this module.
Shift 3. A further shift is possible, shift 3. This shift occurs when the midlevel leader has influence within the organisation beyond the impact upon their own team. This leader, as a consequence of being trusted, is able to influence their organisation. In this section, we take the concept of connection further; in leading in the business environment, we are looking at how a leader connects their team to the organisation as a whole. We call this leading 360°.
